1 - DIY NEWSPAPER BAG

This best out of the waste newspaper is very easy and it takes very less time to finish it.

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Take two sheets of newspaper with good design and spread it open.
  2. Now, fold the newspaper horizontally and staple completely with 1 cm gap on the free edge side.
  3. Fold the stapled side 2 inch inwards and then open.
  4. Repeat the same procedure on the other side also and then fold both sides inwards.
  5. Once, it is completed, make a small fold on the bottom side of the newspaper and staple it.
  6. Flip it on both sides and press the bottom carefully to strengthen the bag.
  7. Finally, you can attach ropes or any fancy handles available with you.
  8. Just pierce the paper at the top and insert the ropes and make a tight knot.
  9. Your pretty newspaper bag is ready.

 

 

2 - DIY NEWSPAPER BOWL

Refresh your mind by making some cute paper bowls.

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Cut the newspaper into strips of 5cm width.
  2. Fold the strips into a thin structure which might be around 1/2 inch.
  3. Take 1 strip and apply a little bit glue on it and start rolling it.
  4. Once it is done, take another strip, apply glue and start rolling from where the previous one ends.
  5. Continue the process until you get the required size of the bowl.
  6. Take a bowl and make it upside down.
  7. Now, place the rolled paper strips on the bowl and adjust the shape by pressing on both the sides.
  8. After getting the required shape, apply a thin coat of glue on both sides of the bowl.
  9. Finally, apply any acrylic colour of your choice to make the bowl more attractive.
  10. Pretty newspaper bowl is ready.

3 - NEWSPAPER  WALL HANGINGS

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Cut the newspaper into strips of 5cm width.
  2. Fold the strips into a thin structure which might be around 1/2 inch.
  3. Take 1 strip and apply a little bit glue on it and start rolling it to form a thin stick.
  4. Repeat the same method and make 20 sticks and keep it ready.
  5. Take a square shaped cardboard of 20 cm width and length.
  6. Apply glue on all over the cardboard.
  7. Fix the newspaper sticks on the cardboard without any space and adjust the length of the newspaper with cardboard by cutting it with scissors.
  8. Apply any acrylic colour of your choice on the newspaper sticks.
  9. Apply any decorative material on four sides of the cardboard.
  10. Take one newspaper stick and roll it to form a circle and attach it to the centre of the design.
  11. Roll another paper to form a circle and adjust the shape by pressing on both the sides to form a cone-like structure.
  12. Hang it on both sides of the cardboard with thread and needle as shown in the figure.
  13. Decorate with different colours of beads and kundans to make it attractive.


BEST OUT OF WASTE WITH PLASTIC BOTTLES

1- ZIPPER BOTTLES

This best out of waste is very useful and easy to make. This cool DIY will definitely be a fun-filled project.

You will need :

Procedure :

  1. Take your favourite coloured plastic bottle.
  2. Measure 5 inches from the bottom of the bottle and mark it with the pen.
  3. Cut away the bottom from the bottle by using sharp scissors.
  4. Take another plastic bottle and follow the same method with 2 inches measurement.
  5. Select a zipper that can be suitably wrapped around the bottle.
  6. Place the zipper to the inside of one bottle and fix it with one glue.
  7. Attach the other side to another bottle.
  8. Close the zipper together and your storage container is ready.
  9. You can store your favourite stuff inside the container.

2 - BOTTLE FLOWERS

Procedure :

  1. Make a mark in the 3/4 size of the bottle and cut the bottle into two halves.
  2. Discard the bottom of the bottle and retain the top portion.
  3. Make vertical cuts with equal lengths in that top portion of that bottle
  4. To resemble petals, bend each of the strips outward.
  5. You can give few more cuts to get that into a fine shape of the petal.
  6. Your flower is ready.

  8. Paint the flower with different acrylic colours.

3 - KIDDY BANK

You will need:

Procedure:

  1. Take a plastic bottle of your favourite colour.
  2. Make a mark in the bottle from 2 inches on the top, 2 inches on the bottom and cut the bottle into three pieces.
  3. Discard the centre part away and fix the top and bottom end together with cello tape.
  4. Make a small hole in the centre of the bottle with scissors to insert the coins.
  5. Colour the bottle with your favourite acrylic colour.
  6. You can also decorate the bottle cap in the same colour.
  7. Collect four bottle caps, colour it and fix it as a piggy leg.

  1. First, collect 4 four bottles. You need two 2 lt, one 1 lt, and one 1/2 litre bottles.
  2. Now, cut the bottom of the bottles with a knife and crop them with a proper shape which resembles petals.
  3. Take a 12-inch rod and keep it ready.
  4. Drill small holes in the centre of the bottle trays to match the same size as the rod.
  5. Take one 2 lt bottle base and insert it upside down into the threaded rod and fix it properly with washer and nut.
  6. This acts as a stand base which holds the stand properly.
  7. Place each tray in between washer and nut with proper distance.
  8. The small size bottle base will be on the top of the stand.

  1. Choose any lotion bottle which matches to the length of the mobile.
  2. Make sure that the bottle is not too big or small than the mobile phone.
  3. Firstly, wash your lotion bottle properly and air dry it.
  4. Held your phone on the bottle and mark with a pen.
  5. Cut the bottle with a sharp knife.
  6. The backside curve is slightly different from the front side as shown in the figure.
  7. Make the edges smooth with some salt paper.

2 - PEN STAND

You can make an excellent pen holder with ice cream sticks. Here is a step by step tutorial for easy making of pen stand.

Ingredients :

Procedure :

  1. Just place an ice cream stick on the sheet of the paper and mark its length.
  2. Make a triangle of three equal sides.
  3. Place one ice cream stick on one of the equilateral triangles.
  4. Apply some glue on one side of the ice cream stick and place the second one on it.
  5. Make sure that both of them fixed together.
  6. Repeat the same method on the third side.
  7. Now, place built up the triangle by following the previous step.
  8. Continue the process until you reach the maximum height of the pen holder.
  9. Allow it to dry for some time.

1 - GLITTERY FISH

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Apply glue all over the CD except the centre portion.
  2. Shower the glitter over the glue and allow it to dry.
  3. Remove the excess glitter once it is dried.
  4. Take a thick chart paper, cut the shapes of mouth, fins and tail.
  5. Stick these parts on the empty side of the cd by using the tape.
  6. Let it dry for some time.
  7. Now attach the googly eye on the glittery side of the fish.
  8. Your lovely fish is ready.

2 - PHOTO FRAMES

  2. The number of CDs depends on the number of photos.
  3. Crop all your photos in a circle shape.

  5. Finally, fix a cord on the back side of the cd to hang it on the wall.

3 - CD WALL HANGINGS

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Cut the newspaper into strips of 5cm width.
  2. Fold the strips into a thin structure which might be around 1/2 inch.
  3. Take 1 strip and apply a little bit glue on it and start rolling it to form a thin stick.
  4. Repeat the same method and make 10 sticks and keep it ready.
  5. By using some knitting needle fold that newspaper stick into a form of a circle.
  6. Take cardboard and cut it into a triangle shape.
  7. Roll the newspaper along the triangle and fix it with glue.
  8. Slowly, remove the cardboard, so that you will get triangle shaped newspaper.
  9. Take one old cd, cut it in the triangle form same as the newspaper.
  10. Fix it inside the triangle carefully.
  11. Paint the newspaper with any acrylic colour of your choice and sprinkle some glitter to make it more attractive.
  12. Repeat the above process and make as many as you can with different attractive colours.
  13. Make 6 circles with newspaper sticks and adjust the shape by pressing on both the sides to form a cone-like structure.
  14. Colour it and add glitter to the cones.
  15. In the same way, make 20 small circles and colour it.
  16. Arrange all the parts as shown in the figure and fix it.
  17. Your colourful wall hanging is ready.

4- COLOURFUL LADYBUGS

Here is another amazing and interesting craft. This is absolutely a best out of waste CDs and definitely, kids will love them.

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Collect some of the waste CDs.
  2. Take different colour felts and trace with one of your CD and mark the pattern.
  3. Cut the felt of different colours and keep them ready.
  4. Make a curved shape on the black felt to resemble ladybug's head.
  5. Make some black colour circles to fix on the ladybug's body.
  6. Now, attach all the colour felts as shown in the figure.
  7. Then, attach the googly eyes on the ladybug's head.
  8. Colourful ladybugs are ready.

 

5 -  TORTOISE

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Collect some of the waste CDs.
  2. Take a chart paper and trace one of your CD on paper, mark the pattern and cut it down.
  3. Use some different colour paper and cut down the body parts as shown in the figure.
  4. Fix all the body parts and your cute tortoise is ready.
  5. You can hang it on the wall with a piece of ribbon behind the tortoise.

 

BEST OUT OF WASTE PENCIL SHAVINGS

1- FISH

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Take any fluorescent paper of your choice and draw the shape of a fish on it.
  2. Cut the shape and fix the matchsticks on the fishtail and fins as shown in the figure.
  3. Slowly collect your pencil shavings and break into uniform pieces.
  4. Apply glue on the fluorescent paper and attach the pencil shavings on a specific pattern as shown above.
  5. Mark the fish eye and mouth in black and red colour.
  6. Your colourful fish is ready.
  7. Now, you can paste this fish on any colourful background.

2 - TREE

You will need :

Procedure:

  1. Draw an outline of a tree on the white paper.
  2. Slowly collect your pencil shavings and break into uniform pieces.
  3. Apply glue on the paper and attach the pencil shavings on a specific pattern as shown above.
  4. Your colourful tree is ready.
  5. Now, you can paste this tree on any colourful background.

BEST OUT OF WASTE COCONUT SHELLS

Don't throw away the coconut shells as you can make many wonderful things with that.

1-  PRETTY TABLA

You will need:

Procedure:

  1. Take two brown dried coconut shells.
  2. Slowly remove all the coconut hair and make it soft.
  3. Place the shells upside down on the white paper and trace the outline.
  4. Cut the white paper on the outline.
  5. You will get two big circles, place these circles on the open side of the coconut shell.
  6. Take a black chart paper and cut two small circles from it.
  7. Attach the black circles each one on the centre of the white papers.
  8. Cut some long strips in white paper and attach it on the coconut shell as shown in the figure.
  9. Your mini tabla is ready.

2- HANGING BASKET

You will need:

Procedure:

  1. Take a brown dried coconut shell with good shape.
  2. Slowly remove all the coconut hair and make it soft with a knife.
  3. Wrap the entire coconut shell with a jute rope.
  4. Now, attach a small toy bowl upside down on the backside of the shell.
  5. Paint the outer portion of the coconut shell with any colour of your choice with different designs as shown in the figure.
  6. Paint the inner portion of the shell with a different colour.
  7. Attach the decorative beads lace to the respective designs with a glue.
  8. Now, fix kundans to add extra beauty to the craft item.
  9. Attach a golden lace on both sides to hang the basket
  10. You can store your cute little stuff inside it.

3 - COCONUT SHELL RAT

You will need:

Procedure:

  1. Take two brown dried well-shaped coconut shells.
  2. Apply glue on the shells and attach both the half shells together.
  3. Let it dry for some time.
  4. Now, you can see a complete coconut shell with eyes and mouth.
  5. Take a black paper in a rectangle shape and roll it to make a thin tube-like structure.
  6. Bend it to resemble a rat tail.
  7. Cut a small circle shape in the white paper and mark black pupils in it to make rat eyes.
  8. Make a small cone shape and four strings with black paper to form a nose.
  9. Now, stick all these parts to the coconut shell in their respective places as shown in the figure.
  10. Stick two pistachio shells for the ears.
  11. The rat is ready.

1- STORAGE BOXES

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. First, place the bangle on the cardboard and trace the outline.
  2. Cut the cardboard in a circular shape with reference to outline.
  3. Choose 10 bangles with any bright colour and attach them one by one with glue.
  4. Place the circle shaped cardboard on the chart paper and fix it.
  5. Take another chart paper of good colour and cut it exactly to the shape of cardboard and fix it on the top.
  6. Make a lid in the same process by using a ribbon as shown in the figure.
  7. Now, its time to decorate the storage box.
  8. Use pearls, mirrors, kundans and decorate it as shown in the figure.
  9. Your storage box is ready and its time to store your stuff.

 

2- Bangle basket:

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Take one bangle and wrap it with dupatta and tie it with string as shown in the figure.
  2. Repeat the same for all the bangles.
  3. Stitch all the bangles with a thread and needle as shown below.
  4. Paint the thread with the colour of dupatta to make it invisible.
  5. Attach a string to hold the basket.
  6. Decorate it with kundans and pearls to make it more attractive.
  7. Colourful bangle basket is ready and its time to store your stuff in it.

BEST OUT OF WASTE WITH PAPER CUPS


1- PAPER CUP LANTERN

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. First, remove the top rim of the cup.
  2. Now, measure the circumference of the cup by using measuring tape.
  3. Mark it on every 1.5 cm.
  4. Now tape around the base circumference of the cup.
  5. Cut straightly on the marked lines and stop near the tape.
  6. Trim the strips at the tip at 3mm on both sides
  7. Roll the strips by using a pen or pencil and attach the tip to the tape.
  8. Repeat the same process and your 12 cups are ready.
  9. Attach all the cups with two-way tape on every 1 of 3 strips as shown in the figure.
  10. Take the 13th cup and make a hole on the bottom to fix the light.
  11. Slowly place the light inside and close it.
  12. Your paper cup lantern is ready to use as a night lamp.

2- CUTE BUNNY

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Take a white chart paper and cut the shape of the bunny ears as shown in the below image.
  2. Now, take the pink chart and cut the same bunny ear shape little bit smaller than the white ears.
  3. Stick the pink ear shape on the white ears.
  4. Put your paper cup upside down.
  5. Attach the ears on the back side of the cup with cello tape.
  6. Fix two googly eyes.
  7. Attach two whiskers and nose to the cup.
  8. Draw the mouth and eyebrows with a pen.
  9. Your cute paper cup bunny is ready.

 

BEST OUT OF WASTE  PROJECTS WITH PLASTIC SPOONS


1- PRETTY PEACOCK

Here is a step by step procedure to make a beautiful peacock with the simple waste materials that you find around you.

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Firstly, we will start with the feathers.
  2. For this, you take a handful of spoons and paint them with acrylic colour to resemble the design of peacock feathers.
  3. We need plenty of feathers. Hence, do it as many as you can.
  4. Allow it to dry for some time.
  5. Meanwhile, take cardboard and draw the peacock shape on it using a stencil.
  6. cut the body shape of the peacock along the line.
  7. You also cut one circular base in the cardboard and wrap it with a colour paper.
  8. Apply glue on it and spray the glitter.
  9. Attach the painted spoons on the circular base to give the feather-like appearance.
  10. Now, take the cotton buds and paint dark blue colour only to the top and lower portion.
  11. Now remove the plastic pipe in between the buds.
  12. Attach these buds to the peacock's body which you made with cardboard.
  13. Cut the front portion of one spoon and attach it as the face of the peacock and also mark the eyes.
  14. Highlight the peacock's nose and beak using different colours.
  15. Now, paste the body of the peacock to the feathers base which you already made.
  16. Take 5 buds and paint them with blue colour and add some glitter to it.
  17. Fix these buds as peacock's crest.
  18. To add more beauty, you can also add some decorative stones to the feathers.
  19. And there your colourful peacock is ready.
